The Ten Commandments are a set of commandments which God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai to serve as principles of moral behavior for the human civilization.
Here is the list of  Ten Commandments from Exodus 20:2-17

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
2. You shall not make idols.
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honor your father and your mother.
6. You shall not murder.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
10. You shall not covet.

Explanation

I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before Me.
We should love, honor, respect and trust in God so much that He alone is the supreme authority. We should not believe or fall for false gods and goddesses.

You shall not make for yourself a carved image any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, the LORD your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.
We should not make or worship any statue. God loves us so much that He is jealous of our love and does not want  us to bow down to any meaningless idols nor serve them.

You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain, for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.
We should fear, love and respect God in his Holy name. We should not use his name for any curse, swear, lie, witchcraft etc.We can pray, praise and give thanks.

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.
We need to take special time for Holy purpose so we can draw nearer to God. We should draw closer to our God on Sabbath day as a time of rest and spiritual rejuvenation.

Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God is giving you.
Children must obey their parents, hold them in love and esteem. They should not provoke them to anger, but give them honor and serve them.

Thou shall not murder
God had given life to us and he alone has the authority to take it back. Taking another person's life is not our right. We should not hurt nor harm anyone. Killing any person is considered murder. We must learn to control our tempers. We should be kind,help and spread the Love.

Thou shall not commit adultery
Adultery is nothing but sleeping with someone else’s spouse, unmarried people, prostitution or a spouse cheating on their partner. We should express our love with our partner only.  Love and honor your spouse.

Thou shall not steal
We should not steal our neighbor’s money, goods or any property. We should also not cheat people to earn money or property. We should not do any criminal activities.

Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor
We should not say anything false against our neighbor , we should not lie, betray, slander, nor defame our neighbor. be with them, defend them, support them.

You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s
Coveting means desire for something which is not rightfully ours. We should not have a desire on anything which belongs to others. Should not have lust after a woman or a man in your heart. Should not have a desire on anything which is not ours either it is a property or any animal.

Conclusion

Dr. David, a well-known cancer specialist, was once on his way to an important conference in another city where he was going to be granted an award in the field of medical research.

He was very excited to attend the conference and was desperate to reach as soon as possible. He had worked long and hard on his research and felt his efforts deserved the award he was about to obtain.

However, two hours after the plane took off, the plane made an emergency landing at the nearest airport due to some technical snag. Afraid, that he wouldn't make it in time for the conference, Dr. David immediately went to the reception and found that next flight to the destination was after ten hours. The receptionist suggested him to rent a car and drive himself down to the conference city which was only four hours away.

Having no other choice, he agreed to the idea despite his hatred for driving long distances. Dr. David rented a car and started his journey. However, soon after he left, the weather suddenly changed and a heavy storm began. The pouring rain made it very difficult for him to see and he missed a turn he was supposed to take.

After two hours of driving, he was convinced he was lost. Driving in the heavy rain on a deserted road, feeling hungry and tired, he frantically began to look for any sign of civilization. After some time, he finally came across a small tattered house. Desperate, he got out of the car and knocked on the door.

A beautiful lady opened the door. He explained the matter and asked her if he could use her telephone. However, the lady told him that she doesn't have a phone or any electronic gadget but told the doctor that if could come inside till weather improves.
Hungry, wet and exhausted, the doctor accepted her kind offer and walked in. The lady  gave him hot tea and something to eat. The lady told him that he can join her for prayers, for which Dr David smiled and said that he believe in hard work only and told her to continue with her prayers.

Sitting on the table and  sipping the tea, the doctor watched the woman in the dim light of candles as she prayed next to what appeared to be a small baby crib. Every time she finished a prayer, she would start another one. Feeling that the woman might be in need of help, the doctor seized the opportunity to speak as soon as she finished her prayers. The doctor asked her what exactly she wants from the God and enquired if God will ever listen to her prayers. He further asked about the small child in the crib for whom she was apparently making a lot of prayers.

The lady gave a sad smile and said that the child in the crib is his son who is suffering from a rare type of cancer and there is only one doctor called David who can cure him but she doesn't have money to afford his fee and moreover Dr David lives in another city which is far off town. She said that God has not answered her prayer so far but said that God will create some way out one day. Also added that she will not allow her fears to overcome her faith.

Stunned and speechless Dr David was in tears which were rolling down his cheeks. He whispered, God is Great. He recollected sequence of events that happened to him, There was malfunction in the plane, a thunderstorm hit, and he lost his way and all of this happened because God did not just answered her prayer but also gave him a chance to come out of materialistic world and give some time to the poor helpless people who have nothing but rich prayers.

This incident changed Dr David's Life and hope changes your too.

An old Farmer lived on a farm in the mountains with his young grandson. Each morning Grandpa was up early and reading his BIBLE sitting at the kitchen table . His grandson wanted to be just like him and tried so many times to imitate him in every way he could.

One day the grandson asked, "Grandpa! I try to read the BIBLE just like you but I don't understand it, and what I do understand I forget as soon as I close the book. What good does reading the BIBLE do?"

The Grandfather quietly turned from putting coal in the stove and replied, "Take this coal basket down to the river and bring me back with basket of water."The boy did as he was told, but all the water leaked out before he got back to the house. The grandfather laughed and said, "You'll have to move a little faster next time," and sent him back to the river with the basket to try again. This time the boy ran faster, but again the basket was empty before he returned home. Out of breath, he told his grandfather that it was impossible to carry water in a basket, and he went to get a bucket instead.

The old man said, "I don't want a bucket of water; I want a basket of water. You're just not trying hard enough," and he went out the door to watch the boy try again.

At this point, the boy knew it was impossible, but he wanted to show his grandfather that even if he ran as fast as he could, the water would leak out before he got back to the house. The boy again dipped the basket into river and ran hard, but when he reached his grandfather the basket was again empty. Out of breath, he said, "See Grandpa, it's useless!"

"So you think it is useless ?" The old man said, "Look at the basket." The boy looked at the basket and for the first time realized that the basket was different. It had been transformed from a dirty old coal basket and was now clean, inside and out.

"Son, that's what happens when you read the BIBLE. You might not understand or remember everything, but when you read it, you will be changed, inside and out. That is the work of GOD and Jesus in our lives."

Isn't this small story beautiful and inspired. So, read the BIBLE daily to change from inside and out.

Bible begins with Genesis chapter. Genesis means the Book of Beginnings and it starts with "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth" (Genesis 1:1). That means earth was formless, empty, and dark in the beginning and God created our world.

Day One - Day and Night
Go said "Let there be light" (Genesis 1:3) and created light and separated the light from the darkness, calling light as "day" and darkness as "night".

Day Two - Sky
God separated the waters and creates the sky on the second day.

Day Three - Land and Plants
God created the dry ground calling the dry ground "land," and waters as "sea". God also created plants and trees of different kinds of large and small plants.The earth was green and God declares that this work is also good.

Day Four - Sun, Moon and Stars
God created the sun, moon, and the stars to give light to the earth and to separate the day and the night. These are served as signs to mark seasons, days, and years.This work is also declared to be good by God. There ends the fourth day.

Day Five - Sea creatures and Birds
God created every living creature of the seas and every bird with wings and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth." (Genesis 1:20-23)

Day Six - Animals and Mankind
God created vast number of animals to fill the earth. God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness’ (Genesis 1:26) and created Man and from Man, woman (Adam and Eve) in his own image. God blesses man and commands him to reproduce and gave them every creature and the whole earth to rule over, care for, and cultivate. There ends the sixth day of creation and God announces that it is very good.

Day Seven - Rest
God had finished the work he has been doing and so he rested on the seventh day. God blessed the seventh day and made it Holy.
